Swimmers, whilst having fun and enjoying their sport, help the less fortunate in our Community by entering Teams, of up to 8 swimmers who swim individually in relay for 40 minutes to achieve their own maximum number of lengths and then together as a team for 5 minutes of "mayhem", to raise funds through sponsorship of their swim.
If you are interested in entering the event please follow the Enter Teams Online link.
Teams can claim 50% of their total sponsorship monies to be used to support their chosen, named and valid, charitable cause.
When entering a team, the team captain must enter the named team on the team entry page in a time and date slot which is not already booked by another team.
All instructions and forms are available on the following pages.
Our Rotary Club, through our Charitable status, will claim Gift Aid, from HM Revenue and Customs, of up to 25% of the sponsorship monies received. Please indicate yes on the sponsorship form so we can submit a claim and increase monies for charitable causes, at no additional cost to the sponsors.
In the past 20+ years, the Rotary Club, by staging the Swimarathon events, has raised nearly £200,000 and applied the monies to worthy causes of which there have been too many to list. Below is a small selection of those who have benefitted from donations.

The aims of the Swimarathon are:
To encourage people to swim and perhaps begin a healthy activity. To encourage team-building and friendship.
By holding the Swimarathon here we have not only been able to raise money for charities but also to promote the pool's facilities for the larger community. This is a fun event which allows everyone to make a difference by supporting charities, through Rotary.
The Rotary Swimarathon committee is dedicated to organising the event. It seeks to make sure that all of our supporters are well informed about it and will find it a fun and safe event in which to be involved.
So much as is practical is provided through this website including contact details where other methods of participating are preferred.
