Running the London Marathon for “Against Breast Cancer.”
On Sunday, 26th April 2026, a record breaking 59000 runners and walkers took part in the iconic 26.2 mile long London Marathon. Among those participating was Olivia Mathews from South Woodham Ferrers, who raised money for the charity ‘Against Breast Cancer”, funding research into secondary spread which is the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.
The Rotary Club of SWF was very pleased to support Olivia’s daunting challenge, added to which she had run the Brighton marathon only a couple of weeks before!
Our Club’s sincere congratulations to Olivia on her achievement for such a worthy cause was marked by our President, Derek Hutchinson and Treasurer, Terri Smith at a presentation ahead of a Club meeting. Two medals on show and more to come by what Olivia says. Brilliant.
